An A-Level Economics specialist
Economics is the most valuable A-Level I studied, and I don't think it's taught well. In three years of 1-to-1 tutoring, I've seen the same pattern come up again and again: capable students losing confidence – not because the subject is beyond them, but because they were never properly taught the content, or never taught how to turn what they know into exam marks. Most schools only ever fix one half of that problem, and one half isn't enough to stop a student feeling discouraged going into their exams.
- —3 years teaching A-Level Economics privately, 1-to-1
- —~25 hours a week of tutoring, alongside university
- —Every class gets one specialist – not a rotating pool of teachers

I started tutoring with Nikhil in Year 12, when I was averaging a C grade. I knew I had the subject knowledge, but my exam technique needed work to push me up to an A/A*. Nikhil focused on exactly that - helping me structure answers properly and approach exam questions with much more confidence. By the time I sat my real A-level exams, I came out of every paper feeling confident in what I’d written. His support made a great difference to my results and my confidence as a student. I’d genuinely recommend Nikhil for anyone studying Economics who feels they need someone to help target their weak points.Read more
Working with Nikhil was one of the best decisions I made during my A-level Economics studies. His explanations were always clear, structured and easy to understand, even for the more difficult topics. What I found most valuable was the amount of time we spent working through past paper questions, as this really helped me develop my exam technique and understand exactly what examiners were looking for. Nikhil was patient, encouraging and always happy to answer questions until I fully understood the topic. His lessons gave me much more confidence, and by the time my exams came around I felt thoroughly prepared. I genuinely believe his support made a significant difference to my performance as I was on a predicted D and now am predicted A/A*. I would highly recommend Nikhil to anyone looking for an excellent A-level Economics tutor.Read more
I cannot recommend Nikhil highly enough as an A-Level Economics tutor. From the very beginning, he demonstrated not only an outstanding knowledge of the Edexcel Economics syllabus but also a remarkable ability to connect with young people and understand the challenges they face. What really set Nikhil apart was how quickly he understood my son. Like many teenagers preparing for A-Levels, there were times when he felt overwhelmed by the workload and struggled with some of the more demanding Economics topics. Nikhil showed great patience and understanding, taking the time to break down complex concepts into manageable parts and helping my son build confidence in his abilities. I remember a period when my son was becoming discouraged and unsure whether he could achieve the grade he was aiming for. Nikhil never gave up on him. Through his encouragement, expertise, and unwavering support, he helped my son regain confidence and develop a much deeper understanding of the subject. In my son's own words: "Nikhil never made me feel like I couldn't do it. Whenever I got stuck, he explained things in a way that finally made sense. He helped me believe that an A grade was possible, even when I wasn't sure myself." That quote perfectly captures the impact Nikhil had, not just as a tutor, but as a mentor. Nikhil's passion for teaching was evident in every lesson. He genuinely cared about my son's progress and success, and his dedication went far beyond simply covering the syllabus. He understood what teenagers are going through and knew how to motivate, encourage, and challenge them to achieve their best. The outcome speaks for itself. Achieving an A grade in A-Level Economics was no easy feat, and Nikhil's guidance, expertise, and commitment played a huge role in making that success possible. As parents, we are incredibly grateful for everything Nikhil has done. We feel fortunate to have met him and to have benefited from his support. I would wholeheartedly recommend him to any parent whose son or daughter is struggling with Edexcel A-Level Economics. With Nikhil's help, confidence grows, understanding deepens, and results follow. Thank you, Nikhil, for your dedication, professionalism, and genuine care. The difference you made in our son's academic journey and personal confidence will not be forgotten.Read more
Before I started with Nikhil, I struggled with confidence in Economics, especially with exam questions. He broke down the tough topics so they actually made sense, and he showed me exactly what examiners look for and how to structure top-mark answers. He genuinely cares about how you do and always keeps you motivated. I’d definitely recommend him to anyone doing A-Level Economics.Read more
I had the pleasure of being taught by Nikhil for A-Level Economics, and I genuinely couldn’t recommend him more highly. He played a huge role in building my confidence throughout the course, breaking down difficult topics into clear, understandable explanations that made even the most challenging concepts feel manageable. One of the things that really set Nikhil apart was his ability to link economic theory to real-world examples. This made lessons far more engaging and helped me develop a much deeper understanding of the subject, rather than just memorising content. He also taught the A* techniques and exam skills needed to achieve the highest marks, from structuring high-scoring essays to applying evaluation effectively. His guidance gave me the confidence to approach exams knowing exactly what examiners were looking for. Overall, Nikhil is an outstanding tutor whose knowledge, teaching style, and dedication make a real difference. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking to improve both their understanding of Economics and their exam performance.Read more
Working with Nikhil has had a huge impact on my confidence and understanding of A-level economics. His lessons are engaging, informative, and tailored to areas I am weak in, such as 25-marker essay writing. He helped me by giving a suitable structure and giving me tips to strengthen my evaluation. What stood out to me the most was how he explains concepts using real-world examples and breaks them down to make them easier to understand. I’d recommend him to any student who is struggling with economics.Read more

I can’t recommend Nikhil highly enough. He has been an absolutely fantastic Economics A-Level tutor for my son. He has a brilliant way of explaining difficult concepts clearly, building confidence and making sure everything is properly understood rather than simply learnt for an exam. His support, encouragement and excellent teaching made a huge difference, and my son went on to achieve an A in Economics A-Level, which we were absolutely delighted with. He is knowledgeable, patient, reliable and genuinely invested in his students doing well. We feel incredibly lucky to have found him and would highly recommend. Thank you so much, Nikhil!Read more
Nikhil is a competent teacher. Every economic concept comes with a real-world example – like using housing market bubbles to explain adaptive expectations and rational speculation – so you're not just memorizing, you're actually understanding. Made a real difference in how I see economics.Read more

- —Syllabus coverage depends on the tutor

FAQ
Questions parents ask us
Who teaches the lessons?
You're taught by Nikhil, a specialist in A-Level Economics – not passed between a rotating pool of tutors. You'll meet him in the free consultation before you commit to anything.
How big are the classes?
Live lessons are small groups, capped at 20 students. Every student also gets an individual 15-minute 1-to-1 with the teacher every two weeks.
Why is Econora better than 1-to-1 tuition?
Econora guarantees coverage of the entire syllabus plus exam technique. For a 1-to-1 tutor to do the same, it would cost you hundreds of pounds more a month, for the same number of hours of teaching that Econora provides. Your child still gets individual attention through a fortnightly 1-to-1, per-question feedback on every assessment, and WhatsApp support.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Edexcel A & AQA, in full. Each class is taught its own board's syllabus end-to-end, never mixed between boards.
How much time does it take each week?
3 hours a week, plus a fortnightly 15-minute 1-to-1 check-in and timed assessment.
How long is the fortnightly timed assessment?
30 - 45 mins. These timed assessments are then marked, and feedback is provided in the 1-to-1.
My child is on a D right now – is this for them?
Yes. We teach the entire syllabus from the ground up, in a planned order. All lessons are recorded and available on the student portal, so even if a student joins us late in the year, they can catch up easily. There are also AS essentials materials for A2 students joining us.
