Cookie Policy

Last updated 14 August 2026

This policy explains how Econora Limited ("Econora", "we", "us") uses cookies and similar technologies on econora.co.uk and in the student portal, what each type of cookie does, and how you can control them.

1. About this policy

This policy should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally. Where this policy refers to "you," it means any visitor to our website or portal – whether you go on to sign up or not.

2. What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. Cookies let a website remember things about your visit – like whether you're logged in, or how you found the site – and are read again on later visits.

We also use similar technologies that work in the same way as cookies, such as local storage. Where we say "cookies" in this policy, we mean all of these unless we say otherwise.

3. The types of cookies we use

We use two categories of cookies. Only the first is allowed to run without asking you first.

CategoryWhat it doesDo we need your consent?
Strictly necessaryRemembers your cookie choices, keeps you logged in to the portal, and keeps the site secure. The site and portal cannot function properly without these. No – these run automatically and can't be switched off through the banner.
AnalyticsGoogle Analytics (GA4). Tells us how many people visit, which pages they read, and how they move through the site, so we can improve it. Data is aggregated – we don't use this to identify a specific student.Yes – blocked by default until you accept.

We do not use any advertising or marketing cookies at all – not on our website, and not in the student portal. We do not use cookies to advertise to anyone, and we never advertise to students.

4. How consent works on our site

  • When you first visit econora.co.uk, a cookie banner asks you to accept or reject analytics cookies. Strictly necessary cookies are not part of this choice, as the site cannot run without them.
  • Analytics cookies are blocked by default. Nothing is stored on your device and no analytics data about you is collected unless you actively accept.
  • We use Google Consent Mode, which means Google Analytics is instructed to store nothing at all until you give consent.
  • You can change your mind at any time using the "Cookie settings" link in the website footer.
  • You can also block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you do, some parts of the site (for example, staying logged in) may stop working properly.
  • Rejecting or later withdrawing your consent does not affect your ability to browse the site, enquire, or sign up for the Service.

The student portal is not yet open to students. When it launches, it will set a strictly necessary login cookie so students and account holders can stay signed in. We will update this table at that point.

6. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our site are set by third parties, not by us directly. These third parties may also use the information the cookie collects for their own purposes, under their own privacy policies:

  • Google Analytics (Google) – analytics
  • CookieYes – records your cookie choices

We don't control how these third parties use the data once it leaves our site. See our Privacy Policy, Section 7, for more on our service providers and where data is stored.

7. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time – for example, if we start using a new tool that sets cookies. We'll update the date at the top of this page when we do. If a change is significant, we'll refresh the cookie banner so you can make a fresh choice.

8. Contact us

If you have questions about our use of cookies, contact us at hello@econora.co.uk.
