FAQ
Every question answered in one place
The programme
What do I get each week?
Three 1-hour live group classes each week, and a fortnightly 15-minute 1-to-1 check-in. A timed assessment lands every two weeks too, with per-question feedback talked through in your next check-in.
How big are the classes?
Each class has a maximum of 20 students.
Which exam boards do you cover?
Edexcel A & AQA, in full. Each class is taught its own board's syllabus end-to-end, never mixed between boards.
How much time does it take each week?
3 hours a week, plus a fortnightly 15-minute 1-to-1 check-in and timed assessment.
When does the programme start? Can we join late?
The programme starts on the 5th of October. All lessons are recorded and available on the student portal, so even if a student joins us late in the year, they can catch up easily. There are also AS essentials materials for A2 students joining us.
What happens if my child misses a lesson?
Every live class is recorded and available on the Portal – that recording is the catch-up. You're not entitled to a live repeat of a missed class.
What if my child misses their 1-to-1 check-in?
If a check-in is missed, your child gets it made up – either a longer 30-minute check-in next time instead of the usual 15, or a separate catch-up session, whichever suits better. Only one missed check-in carries over at a time, so if more than one is missed in a row, they'll pick up from the most recent one rather than accumulating.
Do you cover both AS and A2?
Yes. There are also AS essentials materials for A2 students joining us.
When is all the content covered by?
The full A-Level Economics syllabus for the Student's exam board and year is covered across the Programme, which runs from the start of October to the end of April.
The teaching
Who teaches the lessons?
Nikhil, a specialist in A-Level Economics – not a rotating pool of tutors. You meet him in the free consultation before committing to anything.
How is this different from a private tutor?
Econora guarantees coverage of the entire syllabus plus exam technique. For a 1-to-1 tutor to do the same, it would cost you hundreds of pounds more a month, for the same number of hours of teaching that Econora provides. Your child still gets individual attention through a fortnightly 1-to-1, per-question feedback on every assessment, and WhatsApp support.
What is the 1-to-1 check-in and can I sit in?
A fortnightly 15-min 1-to-1 check-in with the student. Ask questions, flag concerns, check progress, and get live assessment feedback. Parents can join any session.
How do you actually teach exam technique?
The third lesson of every week is an exam technique lesson, focusing on exam-style questions on the content covered that week. By exam day, a student has worked exam-style questions on every topic in the syllabus. The fortnightly timed assessment also comes back marked and with live feedback in the 1-to-1.
My child is on a D right now – is this for them?
Yes. We teach the entire syllabus from the ground up, in a planned order. All lessons are recorded and available on the student portal, so even if a student joins us late in the year, they can catch up easily. There are also AS essentials materials for A2 students joining us.
My child is already on a B – is this for them?
Yes. Closing the gap between a B and an A/A* is almost always a slightly more solid understanding of content and getting more comfortable with exam-style questions. We cover the entire syllabus and also have a designated hour a week for just live exam technique teaching. The fortnightly timed assessment also comes back marked and with live feedback in the 1-to-1 check-in.
The portal and support
What's in the student portal?
Resources, lesson recordings, 1-to-1 bookings, progress tracking, the student's timetable, and more, all in one place.
Do parents get access?
Yes – parents get their own separate parent portal, with visibility into their child's progress, timetable, standing access to join the 1-to-1 check-in, and more, all in one place.
How does WhatsApp support work?
Student & parent in a group chat with the teacher to answer any concerns. The students can also ask study-related questions directly to their teacher. We guarantee a reply within 12 hours.
Are lessons recorded?
Yes, every lesson is recorded and available on the student portal.
